Every week, the Oyugis Integrated Project (OIP) reaches out to the most vulnerable members of our community through its Home-Based Care (HBC) programme. Guided by the Gospel values of love, compassion, and service, our dedicated team visits the sick, the elderly, persons living with disabilities, and families facing extreme hardship. These visits are more than acts of charity—they are encounters of hope, dignity, and God's love.

At OIP, we believe that generosity is not measured by the amount we give, but by our willingness to offer ourselves with love. A listening ear, a comforting smile, a word of encouragement, a prayer, or a food package can restore hope to someone who has almost given up. Through these simple yet profound acts of kindness, we become the hands and feet of Christ among His people.

Inspired by the spirituality of the CMM Brothers (Brothers of Our Lady, Mother of Mercy), OIP continues to spread the spirit of mercy to those who need it most. Mercy calls us to go beyond our comfort, to walk alongside the suffering, and to recognize the face of Christ in every person we serve. It reminds us that true Christian discipleship is lived through compassionate action.

Each Thursday, our Home-Based Care volunteers travel across villages to visit beneficiaries in their homes. They provide food support, basic medical assistance, health education, psychosocial support, and spiritual encouragement. For many of those we visit, these moments are a lifeline. They are reassured that they have not been forgotten and that God continues to care for them through the loving service of His people.

The impact of these weekly visits extends far beyond material assistance. Families regain hope, lonely hearts find companionship, and the sick are strengthened both physically and spiritually. Communities witness the transforming power of Christian love in action, inspiring others to become instruments of mercy within their own neighbourhoods.

As a Christian project, OIP remains committed to preserving the dignity of every human person, regardless of age, illness, or economic status. Our mission is rooted in the words of Jesus: "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me" (Matthew 25:40). This Scripture continues to inspire every volunteer, staff member, and supporter who joins us in serving the vulnerable.

Through the Home-Based Care programme, OIP continues to save lives—not only by addressing physical needs but also by restoring hope, strengthening faith, and reminding every beneficiary that they are deeply loved by God. Every visit becomes a testimony that mercy is alive and that Christian love has the power to heal, uplift, and transform lives.

As we continue this mission, we express our heartfelt gratitude to our volunteers, partners, benefactors, and friends whose generosity makes this ministry possible. Together, we are building a community where no one is forgotten, where compassion triumphs over suffering, and where the light of Christ shines brightly through acts of mercy.

May we all continue to be instruments of God's love, extending generous hands and compassionate hearts to those in need, so that together we may bring hope where there is despair and life where there is suffering.

MY LIFE AS A MENTOR

  As an HIV mentor, I have walked the path of being an adolescent mentor and I am passionate about supporting young people living with HIV in their journey of living positively with the virus. Through my experience, I have learned the importance of empathy, understanding, and empowerment. As I navigate my own journey as a mentor, I have come to realize the great value of mentorship and support. My goal is to help others avoid isolation and feelings of being overwhelmed. In my life as a youth mentor, I aim to offer more peer support, provide accurate information to adolescents on HIV care and treatment, and empower all young people under HIV care to embrace positive living. I mentor in order to give back—to share helpful information with adolescents on how to live a fulfilling and positive life even while undergoing care and treatment. Empowering Grandparents Through Weekly Saving

At the heart of the Oyugis Integrated Project (OIP) is a commitment to restoring dignity and building sustainable livelihoods for all, especially the vulnerable members of our community. One such group is the elderly—grandparents who regularly visit OIP for support, encouragement, and community interaction. In a significant step toward long-term empowerment, OIP has recently launched a weekly savings initiative specifically tailored to these grandparents.
